While at George Mason University, Jonathan led various small groups, mission trips, and was actively involved in the Baptist Student Union of George Mason University.
Jonathan has extensive international mission experience as a “missionary kid” from Bogota, Colombia, as well as through short-term mission trips. His desire and calling is to cultivate and develop all believers into culturally sensitive, relevant, and engaged missionaries.
Tony’s personal mission is to evangelize the lost, disciple new believers, and plant churches. He has 10+ years of experience teaching and pastoring, but his passion is preaching the Good News to those of Arabic descent who are lost.
In 2000, the Lord used Tony to start the Arabic Bible Baptist Church here in Virginia. In 2009, he turned over pastor-ship of that church to start a new work. Tony now pastors the Arabic New Life Baptist Ministry (a fellowship at Jerusalem Baptist Church), where he holds Sunday worship service in Arabic (Sunday mornings 10:45 am in the Historic Chapel) and weekly Bible studies. In addition, Tony leads an active outreach ministry to Arab and international groups in the DC area and beyond.
Tony was born in the Middle East and was saved when he was 13 years old. Soon thereafter, he sensed God’s calling for ministry. He immigrated to the United States almost 30 years ago, where he met and married Souzan and was blessed with four children. He has a bachelor degree in theology and is perusing his master degree in ministry.
JC joined Jerusalem Baptist Church with the New Horizon in 2013. He started New Horizon Community Church in 2007. Prior to that, he served as a pastor of English-speaking congregation for 7 years at Virginia Korean Baptist Church in Fairfax, VA. He was a youth pastor at Korean Baptist Church in Maryland and Calvary Korean Baptist Church in Virginia for 10 years.
JC earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, and a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He is working on Doctor of Ministry degree at Washington Baptist University in Annandale, VA.
JC has been on many mission trips to Mexico, Paraguay, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Japan, Korea, New Mexico and Alaska.
JC is has been working as Senior Business Analyst at Freddie Mac for 3 years. Prior to that, he worked at Fannie Mae as a developer and a project manager for 18 years. He has been married for 22 years to Hanna Moon, and they have two daughters (Jessica who is a sophomore at University of Virginia and Jamie who is a 10th grader) and one son (Jonathan who will be a freshman at Virginia Tech).
Amy has been leading children’s ministries since her college days at Liberty University where she earned her BS in Elementary Education in 1997. Amy earned her Master’s degree in education from George Mason University in 2005. She is also a licensed reading specialist. Amy’s spiritual gift is teaching, and she loves to teach kids about Jesus.
Amy and her husband, Matt, were missionaries in North Africa where they taught at an American school for two years before returning to the states in 2000. She has been on short-term mission trips to Kiev, Ukraine, and Moscow, Russia.
Amy has directed the SMAK (Summer Music and Activities for Kids) musical program for over 10 years and loves to sing and dance with kids. She led AWANA games for several years before becoming the JBC AWANA Commander in 2013. In addition to being a Sunday school teacher for many years, Amy has taught private preschool and public elementary school classes, as well as ESL classes for adults.
Adam has been a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church (JBC) for more than 10 years and has been working with the youth ministry for 11 years. In 2003, he served as Youth Intern under Pastor Jonathan Parker and has been a volunteer ever since. He also served at the Baptist Campus Ministry at George Mason University and has done short-term missions work in New York City, Detroit, and Ukraine.
In summer 2013, Adam sensed God calling him to become Director of Student Ministries for the Jerusalem Baptist Church and the New Horizon Community youth. His mission for the ministry is that all students grow closer to Christ.
